JERUSALEM/RAMALLAH - Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat said on Thursday, ''my health is good. I had only a slight sickness.''
Turkish Consul General in Jerusalem Huseyin Avni Bicakli talked on the phone with Arafat during the reception held on the occasion of the 81st foundation anniversary of Turkish Republic.
Arafat told Bicakli that his health is good and he had a slight sickness, adding, ''Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul has called me on the phone and wished rapid recovery on behalf of himself and Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan.'' Arafat thanked Gul, Erdogan and Turkish people.
Arafat's doctors said he was suffering from weakness in blood platelets, but his health condition was good and needed further checks.
