ZAGREB, Oct 28 (AFP) - A Croatian truck driver is being held in the notorious Abu Ghraib jail near Baghdad, according to the Croatian foreign ministry, cited by national radio Thursday.
It gave no reason why Damir Mikulic was being held at the American-run prison, which attracted worldwide notoriety when pictures of US troops abusing Iraqi prisoners there were published.
Another Croatian driver, Dalibor Burazovic, died last weekend in the ambush near Mosul in the north of Iraq of a convoy of trucks that had been delivering biscuits to US bases in the Baghdad area.
Croatia has no troops with the US-led coalition in Iraq but an estimated hundred of its citizens are believed to be working as drivers there.
