LONDON (AFP) - Britain, whose athletes with the exception of gold medal winners Kelly Holmes and the men's sprint relay, performed so poorly at the Athens Olympics, have turned to China for help in the buildup to the 2008 Beijing Games.
Craig Reedie, Chairman of the British Olympic Association, on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Yuan Weimin, President of the Chinese Olympic Committee, which provides for closer co-operation and could involve the exchange of coaches and experts prior to the Beijing Games.
"Agreements like this can only help to enhance the services which the BOA will be able to offer elite Olympic athletes before the Beijing Games," Reedie said.
