LONDON (AFP) - Paula Radcliffe has set herself the challenge of reviving her career after her Athens Olympic flop by running in the New York City Marathon next month.
The world record-holder, whose Olympic dreams ended in tears when she dropped out of both the marathon and the 10,000 metres in Athens, will take on world-class opposition on November 7.
She took the decision to race in New York after returning to her Loughborough home from a four-and-a-half-week training camp at Flagstaff in the United States.
It will be Radcliffe's fifth marathon, with her first three producing emphatic victories, including world record marks in Chicago two years ago and London in April 2003.
