PARIS - Foreign Minister Michel Barnier of France said on Monday that they attributed great importance to development of dialogue between Turkey and the EU.
The 11th Foreign Ministers' Meeting of the Mediterranean Forum in French capital Paris ended.
Holding a news conference following the meeting, Barnier replied to a question about discussions in France over Turkey's EU membership, saying that not only French public opinion, but also the whole European public opinion had been discussing the issue.
In fact, holding such discussions is more positive than refraining from such arguments, he said.
He added that leaders of the EU-member countries would make a decision on December 17th on both opening of entry talks with Turkey and methods of the talks.
Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul attended the 11th Foreign Ministers' Meeting of the Mediterranean Forum on behalf of Turkey.
