British Consulate General In Istanbul Reopened

ISTANBUL - The British Consulate General in Istanbul was reopened on Monday nearly one year after the suicide attack which caused massive damage to the building.
Prince Charles of Britain and Turkish Culture & Tourism Minister Erkan Mumcu were in attendance at the reopening ceremony.
The attack, one of the four identical suicide bombings, claimed lives of British Consul General Roger Short, two security officials and 15 others.
In last year's suicide attacks on two synagogues, HSBC Bank headquarters and the British Consulate General, 57 people lost their lives (except for the four suicide bombers) and hundreds of others were injured.
Meanwhile, security forces have taken tight measures around the consulate building.
Police stood guard outside and snipers stood atop nearby buildings.
The avenue was closed to traffic during the ceremony.
