SAMARRA - A Turkish driver was shot dead in northern Iraq, sources told the A.A on Sunday.
The body of the driver, who was driving a refined oil products tanker, was found beside a highway near Iraq's largest refinery at Baiji, they said.
His identity has not been determined yet, sources added.
A number of Turkish citizens were kidnapped and several were killed, and at least seven Turkish companies have withdrawn from Iraq to secure the release of kidnapped staff since militants waging a violent insurgency in Iraq have increasingly turned to kidnapping foreigners in an effort to drive out coalition forces and contractors.
