DAMASCUS - Turkish Industry and Trade Minister Ali Coskun was received by Syrian Prime Minister Muhammad Naji al-Utri, and met Syrian Minister of Economy & Trade Amir Husni Lutfi and Minister of Transportation Makram Ubayd on Sunday.
In his meetings, Coskun asked Syria to decrease the transition fee taken per Turkish lorries carrying goods to this country, it was learned.
During his meeting with al-Utri, Coskun said that commercial and economic relations should be speeded up, and bilateral agreements should be put into force as soon as possible.
Sources said that Coskun and Ubayd agreed to rehabilitate Syrian state railways in their meeting. Ubayd said that a joint company would be formed for rehabilitation of Syrian state railways.
Coskun is expected to return to Turkey early on Monday.
