ANKARA - Turkish FM Abdullah Gul has met today Iraq's Islamic Revolutionary High Council Northern Provinces Representative Taki El Mevla. During the meeting, Mevla stated that ''Kerkuk is an inseparable part of Iraq and they want to keep its status quo.''
Responding to a question about attacks on Turkish drivers, Mevla remarked that ''these attacks are done by Saddam loyalists and the men of Zerkavi.'' ''We want to stop such attacks on Turks,'' said Mevla. He further added that ''with the trial of Saddam and the holding of a free election, all attacks in Iraq will cease.''
