ANKARA - Abdullah Gul, Foreign and Deputy Prime Minister, shall visit France to attend the 11th meeting of the Mediterranean Forum of Foreign Ministers, which will take place between October 24-25, 2004.
According to a statement from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Mediterranean Forum, originally established on July 3, 1994 in Alexandria, to promote cooperation in Eastern Mediterranean, provides a better opportunity than the Europe-Mediterranean (EUROMED/Barcelona) body in resolving disputes and differences.
The Mediterranean Forum is a group of 11 nations. France is the acting president of the group.
The 10th meeting of the Forum was held in Antalya, Turkey between 9-10 October 2003. (ULG) 21.10.2004
