Turkey's Tourism Income Rose 8.9 Percent In Q3 Of 2004

ANKARA - ''Tourism income of Turkey rose by 8.9 percent in the third quarter (July, August, September) of 2004'', Turkish State Institute of Statistics (SIS) said on Thursday.
SIS released the results of arriving and departing visitors survey for the third quarter of 2004.
According to the survey, tourism expenditures of Turkey increased by 5.7 percent in the third quarter of 2004 when compared with the same period of 2003.
Expenditures of foreign visitors rose by 13 percent, while expenditures of Turkish citizens living abroad and who visited Turkey decreased by 0.4 percent.
Turkey earned 7.6 billion U.S. dollars from tourism in July-August-September 2004 period. 5.5 billion was spent by foreign visitors, while Turkish citizens living abroad and visiting Turkey spent 2.2 billion U.S. dollars in the mentioned period.
On the other hand, Turkey's tourism expenditures was realized as 734.3 million U.S. dollars in the third quarter of 2004.
