Denktas Designates Eroglu To Form New Government

LEFKOSA - President Rauf Denktas of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on Thursday designated National Unity Party (UBP) leader Dervis Eroglu to form the new government.
President Denktas received Eroglu. Speaking at the meeting, President Denktas said, ''as you know, the government resigned yesterday. Therefore, I decided to designate Eroglu to form the new government. Eroglu will have a 15-day period to form the cabinet.''
The coalition government of the TRNC formed by the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) and Democrat Party (DP) on January 13th, 2004 resigned yesterday (Wednesday).
