LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AFP) - International sport's top arbitration body said it had rejected South Korean Olympic bronze medallist Yang Tae-Young's appeal against the outcome of the competition in Athens.
The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) said the ranking should remain unchanged and US gold medallist Paul Hamm, South Korean silver medallist Kim Dae-Eun, as well as Yang should keep the medals they were awarded.
Yang had appealed against the gold medal award after the International Gymnastics Federation FIG admitted a scoring error in the overall gymnastics tournament in Athens in August.
FIG had argued that its own rules prevented it from overturning the judges' decision in the tightest Olympic men's all-round final in history.
