ANKARA - ''New Turkish Lira (YTL), which will be pushed into circulation as of January 1st, 2005, will be introduced next week'', sources said on Wednesday.
Sources said that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, State Minister Ali Babacan, Treasury Undersecretary Ibrahim Canakci and Central Bank Governor Sureyya Serdengecti were expected to attend the meeting during which the YTL would be introduced.
The sources noted that the meeting would be held next Monday (October 25th).
Officials and Turkish public would be briefed on new banknotes worth of ''1, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100'' YTL, ''1, 5, 10, 25, and 50 kurus'', and coins worth of 1 YTL.
