FRIENDS OF CRITICAL PERIOD
Greens Group of European Parliament will hold a conference in Istanbul to call for starting entry talks with Turkey in the end of this year. Parliamentarians of Greens Cem Ozdemir, Daniel Cohn-Bendit, Monica Frassoni and Joost Lagendijk arrived in Turkey for the conference which will continue until Thursday.
PERSUASION TOUR TO PARIS
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet French intellectuals in Paris where there are big debates about Turkey's EU membership. Erdogan will try to eliminate prejudices. His tour will start tonight.

According to researches of French and Italian vessels, there are tens of splits which extend different directions from main fault at Marmara Sea. Some experts say, ''these small splits are good for the discharge of energy.''
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT REVOLUTION IN BUDGET
For the first time, the government added a special allocation to budget for research and development studies. The allocation worth of 450 trillion Turkish Liras was added with the direction of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The allocation is more than the budgets of Transportation and Energy Ministries. The allocation will be used under the coordination of the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK).

The government eliminates the final problems regarding minority foundations and immovables. New foundations draft law is expected to be adopted before December 17th.
5 PERCENT INCREASE TO PRICES OF FUEL OIL
Prices of fuel oil productions increased for the second time within October. The prices rose between 4.9-5 percent with new increases.

Inflation will decrease by 8 percent. Economy will grow by 5 percent. The salaries of civil servants will increase 5.8 percent in January and 6 percent in July.

GUL: EU SHALL BE SINCERE
Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul who met German Foreign Minister Fischer in Germany said that the EU should keep its promises. Gul wanted debates which are made on Turkey to be sincere and objective. Fisher said that Progress Report is intelligent and added, ''against the expression stating that talks will be open-ended, the report also includes a full membership perspective.''

The conference on ''Turkey in EU: A Common Future'' which Greens Group at European Parliament held to support Turkey will start in Istanbul today. The conference will continue for 4 days. Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc, Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul, German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer and many EP members will participate in the conference.

CALL FROM BAYKAL TO ERDOGAN
Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Deniz Baykal said that it is not sincere to ask for a reconciliation commission to lift political immunities. He added, ''if Erdogan has a proposal, he shall present it.''
SPAIN WILL TAKE BACK POISONOUS WASTES
Turkey and Spain have reached a consensus on removal of sunken Ulla vessel in Iskenderun. The poisonous wastes in the sunken vessel will be sent to Spain.

German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer said, ''the Commission has already recommended starting of entry talks with Turkey in its report.'' Gul who met Fischer in Germany said that Turkey expects the EU to be committed to the agreements it signed.

Holding a news conference for presentation of 2005 budget draft to Parliament, Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan said, ''we have already reached the criteria which are set for 2004. The inflation will be much lower than expectations. These developments increased reliability of Turkey for foreigners.''

German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer said that the Progress Report of European Commission is rationalist. Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul met Fischer yesterday in Germany. Fischer said that the aim of talks is to make Turkey EU member.
