Turkey Raises $273 Million Through Exports Of Hazelnuts

TRABZON - Turkey exported 41,741 tons of hazelnuts and earned 273,095,000 U.S. dollars in the 6th week of 2004-2005 hazelnut export season which started on September 1, 2004.
According to the data released by Black Sea Hazelnut & Products Exporters' Association, Turkey actually exporting hazelnuts to 80 countries.
Turkey exported 34,736 tons of hazelnuts to the European Union (EU), 3,628 tons of hazelnuts to other European countries, 2,122 tons of hazelnuts to overseas countries and 1,255 tons of hazelnuts to other countries.
In the same period of the previous export season, Turkey had exported 41,658 tons of hazelnuts and gained an income of 143,025,473 U.S. dollars.
