KABUL, Oct 16 (AFP) - Three rockets were fired in the Afghan capital Kabul late Saturday injuring at least one person in the latest of a string of attacks following landmark elections.
A woman was injured by one rocket which landed near a mosque in northeast Kabul at around 7:00 pm (1430 GMT), police said.
The second rocket struck the sixth floor of an apartment building in the heavily populated Microrayon district of Kabul, but there were no casualties, Ibrahim, the 35-year-old supervisor of the building told AFP.
"We are so used to this after 25 years of war, but we have never left this building," he said.
There were no details available on the location of the third rocket.
On Friday a policeman and three children were killed in eastern province Kunar in a bomb blast near a truck which had been set on fire. Militants exploded the device after a crowd had gathered, officials said.
Two US soldiers were killed in a mine explosion in south-central province Uruzgan Thursday, while an Afghan army soldier was killed in a mine blast in western Herat the same day.
Four rockets landed Monday evening in the Afghan capital killing one man and injuring a child.
Remnants of the former Taliban regime, ousted by a US-led invasion in 2001, had threatened to disrupt Afghanistan's first direct presidential elections last Saturday.
