US soldier wounded as car bomb hits tank in western Iraq

RAMADI, Iraq, Oct 16 (AFP) - A car bomb exploded next to a US tank in the restive province of al-Anbar in western Iraq on Saturday, wounding one soldier, the military said.
The attack occurred at 3 pm (1200 GMT) in Khalidiyah, a town between the rebel strongholds of Fallujah and Ramadi, a US marines spokesman said.
Earlier, the US military said three soldiers, a marine and a civilian translator were killed and one soldier wounded in two car bombings on Friday, one in the northern city of Mosul and another near the city of Qaim on Iraq's border with Syria.
