Two US soldiers killed in Baghdad attacks

BAGHDAD, Oct 14 (AFP) - A second US soldier was killed in an attack Thursday in central Baghdad after another was killed and two wounded by a homemade bomb on the eastern side of the capital, a military statement said.
"One Task Force Baghdad soldier was killed in central Baghdad when a patrol was attacked with small arms fire at about 1:45 pm (1045 GMT)," it said.
Earlier a soldier was killed and two wounded in an improvised explosive device attack on the eastern side Baghdad.
There have been 1,083 US soldiers killed in Iraq since the US-led invasion in March 2003, according to the latest Pentagon tally.
