MONTREAL (AFP) - A Boeing 747 cargo jet with the African company MK Airlines crashed after takeoff from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and the crew of seven was believed dead.
"There appear to be no survivors," Royal Canadian Mounted Police Constable Joe Taplin told CTV television on Thursday.
Early reports said the Ghanaian-based company's crew was from Britain, Zimbabwe and South Africa. The plane was carrying seafood to Spain, CBC radio reported.
The Halifax airport was closed early Thursday.
