MOSUL, Iraq, Oct 13 (AFP) - Two US soldiers were killed and five wounded in a suicide car bomb attack against their convoy in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul on Wednesday, the military said.
A convoy was hit by a suicide car bomb and small arms fire, killing two soldiers and wounding five others, two of whom immediately returned to duty, it said in a statement.
The attack took place at about 2:20 pm (1120 GMT) on the northeastern side of Mosul.
A US military vehicle was ablaze at the site of the attack, an AFP correspondent said.
Mosul has been the site of regular car bomb attacks over the past few weeks against US forces and their allies in Iraq. The attacks have been blamed on Sunni Muslim insurgents.
