Body of murdered British hostage still missing: embassy in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Oct 12 (AFP) - The body of British hostage Kenneth Bigley who was murdered in Iraq has yet to be recovered, Britain's embassy in Baghdad said Tuesday.
"The body has not been recovered yet, but we are trying our best to do that," said an embassy spokesperson, adding that contacts were being made with Iraqi authorities.
Earlier, a Downing Street spokesman said he had no information on the whereabouts of the Briton's body.
Bigley's death was confirmed by his family Friday after an Arab television channel received a video of his execution by his kidnappers.
The video was posted on the Internet on Sunday showing Bigley being beheaded by hooded men after making a last desperate appeal.
The 62-year-old engineer was abducted in Baghdad on September 16 by the hardline Tawhid wal Jihad (Unity and Holy War) insurgent group along with two US colleagues who were beheaded last month.
