Iraq group beheads Turkish contractor, Kurdish translator: website

DUBAI, Oct 11 (AFP) - An Al-Qaeda-linked group said Monday it had beheaded a Turkish contractor and an Iraqi Kurd who worked with US forces in Iraq, in statements posted on an Islamist website and a video showing the killings.
"Maher Kemal, a Turk taken captive on the highway between Mosul and Baghdad on October 8, 2004 ... was slaughtered ... after confessing he was a contractor who had a deal with US forces to implement projects at Al-Bakr air base, north of Baghdad," said a statement signed by the Army of Ansar al-Sunna.
A separate statement by the group posted on the same website identified the beheaded Kurdish translator as Lukman Hussein, a native of Dahuk and member of Massoud Barzani`s Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).
A video posted on an Internet link showed the beheading of the two men.
