Turkish Red Crescent Humanitarian Aid Team Return From Iraq

ANKARA - Turkish Red Crescent team who carried humanitarian aid to Iraqi people but were attacked in Tal Afar returned to Turkey on Friday.
The team members were greeted by Red Crescent Director General Omer Tasli, their families and relatives at the aid organization's facilities in Etimesgut district of Ankara.
Tasli said that although the team were attacked in Tal Afar, they fulfilled their humanitarian mission successfully.
''Our team went to Tal Afar to bring humanitarian aid to people who feel pain and grief but they were attacked by gunmen who do not have any humane feelings. Their trucks were bearing Red Crescent flags. Mustafa Pekcan, one of our friends, was killed in that armed attack. We are mournful. Besides, two members of our aid team were wounded in that attack. I wish them quick recovery,'' he said.
Red Crescent team carried 7 trucks of humanitarian aid to people of Tal Afar and they stayed for 20 days in the Turkmen city.
Cesur Can, the head of the team, said that they condemned those who attacked on people working on behalf of the Red Crescent and Red Cross.
