One Gendarme Dies, Three Soldiers Injured In Mine Explosion In Batman

BATMAN - One gendarme died, while three soldiers were injured when their vehicle ran over land mine in Gercus town of southeastern city of Batman, governor said on Saturday.
Batman governor Haluk Imga said that an explosion occurred when a military vehicle carrying soldiers ran over land mine planted by terrorists near Akyar village.
Stating that one gendarme died in the explosion, Imga noted that three soldiers who were injured in the explosion were hospitalized by a helicopter.
Imga added that they launched an operation in the region to capture assailants.
