GAZA CITY, Oct 9 (AFP) - A Palestinian was killed late Friday by Israeli soldiers in Jabaliya in the northern Gaza Strip, Palestinian hospital sources said.
Earlier Friday, two teenagers and a nine-year-old girl were killed by Israeli fire in the area.
The sources said the latest death was of a 25-year-old called Salama Abu Selea.
It brings to 98 the number of people reported killed by the Israeli army since they launched a major offensive September 28 in the Gaza Strip to try to stop militant rocket attacks on southern Israel.
Four powerful explosions were later heard as tanks opened fire on the neighbouring Beit Lahya district. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
Since the start of the Palestinians' four-year-old intifada, 4,462 people have been killed, including 3,434 Palestinians and 954 Israelis.
