FALLUJAH, Iraq, Oct 8 (AFP) - Eight people were killed in a US air raid on the Iraqi rebel-held city of Fallujah before dawn on Friday, hospital officials said.
"We have received eight dead and 11 wounded," a doctor at Fallujah's general hospital said.
The raid targeted a northern district of the city at 1:30 am (2230 GMT Thursday), according to an AFP correspondent.
US warplanes pound Fallujah almost daily in raids targeting supporters of Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi, the most wanted man in Iraq whose Tawhid wal Jihad (Unity and Holy War) group is blamed for a string of deadly attacks and beheadings of hostages.
