EU report on membership for Turkey largely meets Ankara's expectations: minister

ANKARA, Oct 6 (AFP) - The European Commission's report on Turkey, which recommends that the European Union start membership talks with Ankara, "generally" meets the country's expectations but its details have yet to be studied, Turkish Justice Minister Cemil Cicek told NTV television.
Cicek, who is also the government's spokesman, said that by recommending the opening of membership negotiations, the report from the executive arm of the 25-nation EU had met Turkey's main expectation.
Asked whether Ankara was satisfied with the report, Cicek said: "Generally, yes, but we should look at the details."
