ANKARA - Turkey hosted 2,125,083 foreign tourists in September 2004, Culture and Tourism Ministry said on Tuesday.
A statement of the Ministry said that number of foreigners visiting Turkey increased by 13.38 percent in September 2004 when compared with the same period of last year.
On the other hand, the Ministry announced that the number of foreign tourists visiting Turkey increased by 27.25 percent, to reach 13,936,507 between January and September 2004 when compared with the same period of the previous year.
Germany, Russia and Britain were the first three countries sending the highest number of tourists to Turkey in September of 2004, the Ministry noted, adding that tourists from the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Iran, Belgium, France, Greece, Austria, Italy, Sweden, Israel, Switzerland and Ukraine also visited Turkey in the same period.
