Gul Discusses Progress Report With Several European Officials

ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul discussed Regular Report on Turkey's Accession Towards European Union (EU) with several European officials on the phone.
The report will be published tomorrow (Wednesday) by the European Commission.
Diplomatic sources said on Tuesday that Gul talked on the phone with EU Enlargement Commissioner Guenter Verheugen, German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer, Dutch Foreign Minister Bernard Bot and Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos. Gul will also have a phone conversation with British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw.
Gul asked the officials to exert their final efforts for the report and he conveyed his views and opinions about the report to those officials, sources added.
