BRUSSELS - A Turkish arts festival will start in Brussels, Belgium, on October 6th, sources told the A.A on Monday.
During the four-month festival, an exhibition titled ''Mothers, Goddesses and Female Sultans'' will be opened with the theme of ''women in Turkey from the ancient time to collapse of Ottoman Empire''.
Nearly 350 historical works of art collected from the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, the Topkapi Palace, Istanbul Archaeology Museum and several museums in Europe, will be displayed in the exhibition.
Brussels Palace of Fine Arts Curator Paul Dujardin said that festival organized by the Turkish and Belgian governments, aimed at promoting Turkey during its European Union (EU) membership process.
Famous Turkish musicians such as Fazil Say, Sezen Aksu, Candan Ercetin, Sertab Erener, Neset Ertas, Gulsen Kutlu and Tahir Aydogdu, theatre troupes and writers will attend the activities.
During the festival, also a panel discussion on place and role of modern Turkish women in the society will be held.
Turkish Arts Festival will continue till end of January 2005.
