ISTANBUL - ''I saw draft of Progress Report on Turkey which the European Union (EU) Commission will publish on October 6th. We are sure of us. And it will be a very fair and good report,'' said Turkish Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul on Sunday.
Gul replied questions of reporters after International Symposium on ''Civilization and Harmony: Values and Mechanisms of the Global Order'' held in Istanbul.
When asked, ''there are reports alleging that 'conditional negotiations' are projected regarding Turkey's EU membership'' Gul said, ''we are sure of us. What we have done is crystal clear. I have seen the draft of Progress Report. It is an x-ray of Turkey. All realities about Turkey, all reforms and important steps are reflected in it. It is obvious that Turkey has fulfilled Copenhagen political criteria. Thus, any other condition or biased practice is impossible. The report will be officially published on October 6th. Many changes can be done until that date. We are sure of us and believe that the report will be fair and good.''
