BEIJING, Oct 4 (AFP) - Twenty-four people were killed and 28 others injured in a blast at a firecracker factory in southwest China on Monday, state media said, citing local government sources.
The explosion occurred at a factory in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, according to the Xinhua news agency. An investigation was under way.
Fatal industrial accidents are common in China. More than 7,300 people were killed in accidents in mining, heavy industry and other sectors in the first half of the year.
