Dutch clear British Airways plane to proceed to London

LONDON (AFP) - Dutch authorities have cleared the return home of a British Airways flight that was forced to divert to Amsterdam because of a security scare, a spokeswoman for the airline in London told AFP.
She said a relief aircraft was going to the Dutch city to pick up the 118 passengers of the Berlin to London flight, while the diverted plane itself would proceed to the British capital with a new crew in the evening.
A spokesman in the Netherlands for British Airways told AFP that it had been forced to divert to Amsterdam's Schiphol airport -- reportedly under fighter jet escort -- because of "a bomb threat".
