British Airways plane makes emergency landing after bomb threat

THE HAGUE, Sept 30 (AFP) - A British Airways plane en route from Berlin to London made an emergency landing at Amsterdam's Schiphol airport Thursday after a bomb threat was received, a BA spokesman said in the Netherlands.
"There has been a bomb threat," spokesman Michel Boulogne told AFP. He would not give any other details.
In London, British Airways said the plane, carrying 118 passengers, was forced to make the unexpected landing because of a security "threat".
The Dutch media reported that the BA plane was escorted by two F16 fighter jets as soon as it entered Dutch air space.
The plane landed safely at 13h56 local time (11h56 GMT) and all the passenger disembarked unhurt, the spokesman said.
A spokesman of the military police responsible for Schiphol's security told the Dutch ANP news agency that no one has been arrested yet in connection with the bomb threat.
The military police have started an investigation. All the luggage from the plane is being searched with dogs specially trained to sniff out explosives. The passengers from the flight are being kept in a closed-off area and will all be checked by military police as well.
