GUL: SEND TOURISTS TO TURKEY
Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul who met Chinese Foreign Minister Zhaoxing Li in New York told him, ''you can send tourists to Turkey.'' Gul also made proposals to balance the trade between two countries. Recalling that trade volume between Turkey and China is 2.8 billion U.S. dollars, Gul said that Turkey's share is only 500 million U.S. dollars.
56% OF FRENCH PEOPLE AGAINST TURKEY WITHIN EU
Following proposal of French Finance Minister Nicolas Sarkozy who suggested to bring Turkey's European Union (EU) membership to referendum, Le Figaro newspaper published the results of a public survey regarding the views of French people about the issue. 56% of French people is against Turkey's membership while 36% supports it. 8% is indecisive.

HUGE MEETING IN ANKARA
Turkey, which was among the worst countries regarding violation of human rights until recent past, will host an international meeting. 500 human rights defenders from 90 countries will convey their new tactics against human rights violations during the meeting. Prime Ministry Promotion Fund, the United States, Britain and the Netherlands will meet 1.5 million dollars of cost of the meeting. The meeting will continue for 5 days.
MANCHESTER ACCIDENT
Fenerbahce soccer team returned from Britain with an unexpected result. Fenerbahce conceded 6 goals and it could converted only 2 goals into Manchester United's nets in last night's Champions League Group D qualifier at United's ground Old Trafford.

ANOTHER TURKISH DRIVER KILLED IN MOSUL
Nizamettin Bilir, a Turkish driver, was killed in an attack near Mosul, Iraq yesterday. Bilir was carrying construction materials. Bilir's body was brought to Turkey.
SYNCHRONOUS BOMB ATTACKS IN 4 CITIES
Four bomb explosions occurred in Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir and Adana cities last night. Three of the synchronous explosions targeted offices of HSCB. A security guard was injured in the explosion in HSBC office in Izmir, which caused financial damage. A resonant bomb which was planted in Turkish American Association (TAA) building in Ankara detonated, causing damage to nearby buildings.

ANOTHER TURKISH DRIVER KILLED IN MOSUL
Nizamettin Bilir, a Turkish driver who was carrying oil for Americans, was killed in an attack near Mosul. His body was sent to his family. At least 13 Turkish drivers have been killed in Iraq until today, while 10 others are still kept hostage.
GUL OBSTACLE AGAINST EUROPEAN MINISTRY
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is planning to form a ministry to hold meetings regarding December 17 Summit of the European Union (EU) and pursue negotiations after December 17. However, Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul is against this plan as he would be stripped off some of his authorities and his Ministry would be separated.

Jean Christophe Filori, spokesman of the European Union (EU) Commissioner for Enlargement Guenter Verheugen, said, ''Turkish Penal Code (TCK) is one of the main elements in the aspect of democratization and modernization process in Turkey. We welcomed new TCK.''
EUROPE LESSON TO AK PARTY MEMBERS
Deputies of Justice and Development Party (AK Party) asked what would happen to Turkey when negotiation process with the European Union (EU) would start. Foreign policy team of the party replied questions of deputies. State Minister Mehmet Aydin stressed that Turkey is Muslim country and said, ''we have our own values. We are considered as European when we enter EU, American in the United States, Middle Eastern in Middle East. We provided this with our implementations, not with words.''

STABILITY IN IRAQ RELATED WITH KIRKUK
Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul warned the United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan to be careful about Kirkuk issue. Gul said, ''we do not have a secret agenda but Kirkuk is very important for us. If the structure changes and stability is deteriorated in Kirkuk, it would harm the whole country.''
WORLD TURKISH BUSINESSMEN TO MEET IN ANKARA
The 5th General Assembly meeting of the World Turkish Businessmen will be held in Ankara. Businessmen who will come from 40 different countries will discuss 'trade among Turks'. The motto of the meeting will be 'Ankara meeting on the European Union (EU) path' to support Turkey.

SYRIA BANS TURKISH COMPANIES TO CARRY OIL
Syria conveyed Turkey that persons and companies carrying oil and its products will not be allowed to pass from Syria. Private firms halted oil transportation to Iraq via Syria following the decision. Transportation companies stated that it is difficult to understand the attitude of Syria.
