Berlusconi, Musharraf say no to increased Security Council membership

ROME (AFP) - Italy's Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf agreed in bilateral talks there should be no increase in the number of permanent members of the UN Security Council.
A joint statement released after the talks at Berlusconi's Rome office that although reform of the council was necessary, it should not entail an expansion of the current five-member council.
Musharraf is on a three-day visit to Italy during which he is also to meet Italian business leaders before attending an audience with Pope John Paul II.
