Khatami Telephones Erdogan To Express His Sorrow For Postponement Of His Scheduled Visit

ANKARA - Iranian President Mohammad Khatami telephoned Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday to express his sorrow over postponement of his visit to Turkey scheduled to take place between September 28th and 29th.
Prime minister's office issued a statement and said Khatami told Erdogan he would like to pay the visit soon.
Stating that there was a strong friendship between Turkey and Iran, Khatami said there was such a delay to further strengthen this friendship and to settle commercial relations on a solid basis.
Khatami expressed hope for the continuation of this friendship forever.
Erdogan in reply expressed sorrow over postponement of the visit, yet expressed understanding.
Erdogan said, ''we would like to see you in Turkey soon.''
