Syria blames Israel for "terrorist" killing of Hamas man

DAMASCUS, Sept 26 (AFP) - The Syrian authorities blamed Israel Sunday for the killing here of a Palestinian militant from the Islamist group Hamas, warning that it bore responsibility for the consequences of the "terrorist" act.
"The Israeli authorities have committed a dangerous act by assassinating Palestinian citizen Ezzeddin Sheikh Khalil, resident in Syria, in a car bombing," said an official cited by the state SANA news agency.
"This terrorist operation constitutes a dangerous development for which Israel bears responsibility."
