TAMPA, Florida, Sept 25 (AFP) - Hurricane Jeanne, winds of 170 kilometers (105 miles) per hour, has forced cancellation of Sunday's major league baseball game between the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and Toronto Blue Jays.
The game will not be made up.
Saturday evening's game between the Devil Rays and Blue Jays was to start at its scheduled time, but with the storm approaching, no inning will begin after 9:15 p.m. (01:00 GMT).
A million people have been ordered to evacuate as Jeanne threatens to become the fourth major storm to hit Florida in six weeks.
Virtually the entire Atlantic coast of Florida was under a hurricane warning, with officials urging residents not to let fatigue or complacency hinder preparations ahead of expected landfall before dawn Sunday.
