F.M. Gul Inaugurates Turkish Jazz Festival In New York

NEW YORK - Turkish Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul inaugurated Turkish Jazz Festival in New York on Friday evening.
Aydýn Esen and Okay Temiz band appeared on the stage and gave concerts on the first day of the Turkish Jazz Festival.
Gul`s wife Hayrunisa Gul, Turkish Ambassador in Washington Faruk Logoglu, Turkey`s Permanent Representative to the UN Umit Pamir and many other diplomats watched performances.
Making opening remarks of the festival, Foreign Minister Gul thanked musicians and people who expended effort in organization of the festival which was very important for promotion of Turkey.
Gul is currently in New York for the United Nations General Assembly meetings.
The festival will continue for 3 days and Ilhan Ersahin, Okay Temiz, Erkan Ogur, Aydin Esen, Kudsi Erguner and Laco Tayfa band will give concerts during the festival.
It is hosted by Ahmet Ertegun, Arif Mardin and Ilhan Mimaroglu.
Greg Osby, Eddie Henderson, Lefteris Bournias and Joe Lovano are among the participants of the festival.
