GAZIANTEP - Exports from Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) region to the European Union (EU)-member countries increased 54 percent to 226.7 million U.S. dollars in the first eight months of 2004.
The region exported 190.1 million U.S. dollars in textiles, 31.5 million U.S. dollars in dried fruits, 3.3 million U.S. dollars in grain-cereals, and 1.8 million U.S. dollars in livestock.
In the same period of previous year, the region exported goods of 146.8 million U.S. dollars to 23 EU-member countries.
