ANKARA - The rate of capacity utilization increased from 79.3 percent in August of 2003 to 81.7 percent in August of 2004.
The State Institute of Statistics (DIE) announced on Saturday primarily provisional results of 728 large scale manufacturing industrial establishments.
The DIE said that the rate of capacity utilization that was weighted by production value, increased to 81.7 percent in August of 2004.
When the reasons of not working in full capacity for August of 2004 compared to the same month of the previous year, shortage of demands in domestic market dropped from 57.4 percent to 44.6 percent, and shortage of demands in foreign market increased from 19.3 percent to 21.2 percent.
When the weighted average view of the establishments for August of 2004 compared to the same month of the previous year, establishments have thought that their production dropped and domestic sales fell while sale prices and raw material prices increased.
