IZMIR - Prof. Dr. Oztekin Oto from the Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Medicine Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, said on Saturday that the 16th Annual Meeting of the Mediterranean Association of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery would start on Sunday in Bodrum town of western city of Mugla.
Prof. Dr. Oto, who also acts as chairman of Mediterranean Association of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, said that prominent U.S. and European cardiologists and cardiac surgeons such as Cleveland Clinic CEO Delos Cosgrow, Kenton Zahos from the Mayo Clinic, Randal Wolf, European Association of Cardiology Chairman Fausto Pinto, David Fisch from the Texas Heart Institute and Alain Pavey would attend the three-day meeting.
``More than 1,500 Turkish and foreign scientists will participate in the meeting. Five famous cardiologists from the Cleveland Clinic, the Mayo Clinic and the Texas Heart Institute are among our guests. Robot-guided heart surgery and genetic treatment of heart diseases will be high on agenda of the meeting. Reports to be submitted at the meeting, will be published in a worldwide famous medical journal in the United States,`` he added.
