MERSIN - Atilla Osmancelebioglu, the governor of Turkey's southern city of Mersin, said on Friday that Syria would set up tourism information bureaus in Turkey.
Final statement of ''Turkish-Syrian Tourism Meeting'', which was held by Mersin Governor's Office, Allepo Consulate General, and Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry to increase tourism activities, was issued.
Speaking after the meeting, Osmancelebioglu said the activities would play an important role in increasing tourism cooperation between Turkey and Syria.
Final statement of the meeting said, ''studies will be carried out to facilitate border passages and sea and land transportation, joint tourism offices will be established, reciprocal promotion activities will be increased, tourism facilities between the two countries will be assessed, and studies will be carried out to develop reciprocal investment facilities.''
