Gul To Inaugurate Turkish Jazz Festival In New York

NEW YORK - Turkish Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul will inaugurate Turkish Jazz Festival in New York today.
Gul is currently in New York for the United Nations General Assembly meetings.
The festival will continue for 3 days and Ilhan Ersahin, Okay Temiz, Erkan Ogur, Aydin Esen, Kudsi Erguner and Laco Tayfa Group will participate in the festival.
It will be hosted by Ahmet Ertegun, Arif Mardin and Ilhan Mimaroglu.
Greg Osby, Eddie Henderson, Lefteris Bournias and Joe Lovano are among the participants of the festival.
Meanwhile, a reception was held for Turkish jazz artists in Turkish House in New York on Thursday night.
New York Culture & Tourism Attache Levent Demirel said, ``the main purpose of the festival which is the product of a six month work is to promote Turkey.``
``The festival will be held in a hall at the Lincoln Center,`` added Demirel.
