Eriksson Gets Vote Of Confidence From F.A.

LONDON (AFP) - England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has been given a vote of confidence from the Football Association with the governing body dismissing suggestions they would be prepared to let the Swede leave for Real Madrid.
The FA also refuted reports in the English media that Eriksson's eventual successor could be appointed on a part-time basis.
"Contrary to unattributed and unhelpful comments in certain recent reports, the FA would like to make clear that Sven-Goran Eriksson has the full support of the organisation," the FA said in a statement.
"The team has made a strong start to its World Cup qualifying campaign and everyone at the FA is looking forward to Sven and the players building on that as we move towards the 2006 World Cup."
Eriksson had himself ruled out of moving to Real Madrid in the wake of Jose Antonio Camacho's resignation earlier this week after just six games in charge.
But a flurry of reports had suggested the FA would be prepared to see him go because of a lingering feeling that England's results under Eriksson have not justified his four million pounds annual salary.
