Fourth Balkans School Of Nuclear Physics Opened In Bodrum

BODRUM - The Fourth Balkans School of Nuclear Physics opened in Bodrum town of Aegean city of Mugla on Wednesday in cooperation with the Balkans Union of Physics, the Istanbul University and the Turkish Association of Physics.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Turkish Association of Physics Chairman Prof. Dr. Baki Akkus said that the initiative aimed at supporting young scientists.
''Young scientists in the Balkan states do not have enough opportunity to develop themselves due to economic difficulties. A number of young scientists will have the chance of meeting leading physicians of the world at the school,'' he said.
Prof. Dr. Akkus added that 17 researchers from the European Union (EU) countries, 27 researchers from the Balkans, 7 students from other countries and 16 Turkish scientists would participate to the studies which will last until September 29 at the school .
