BERLIN (AFP) - T-Mobile's Jan Ullrich confirmed he will ride in the cycling World Cup which starts in seven days time in the Italian city of Verona.
A third place finish in the recent Giro del Lazio has convinced the 30-year-old German his form is good enough to have an impact in the World Cup.
"The last few races in Italy have proved to me that I am in good shape and that was very important. I feel strong and will give my all," he said on his website.
Ullrich, Tour de France winner in 1997, flopped in the Athens Olympics, finishing 19th in the road race.
