Syria Redeploying 3,000 Troops In Lebanon

BEIRUT (AFP) - Syria started to redeploy about 3,000 troops in Lebanon, with most of them due to return home, a high-ranking Lebanese army official told AFP.
"The redeployement concerns about 3,000 troops, and most of them are due to return to Syria," said the official who did not wish to be identified.
He said the number of Syrian troops in Lebanon would have decreased to about 15,000 at the end of the redeployment process.
